I would check ignition timing. maybe the distributor came loose or something. Are you spraying the starter fluid past the throttle plates, I am sure you are just making you you are not spraying it before the throttle plates.

If you smell fuel, it may be flooded. Check the fuel pressure regulator, vacumn lines to it...ect. If it goes bad, it can restrict the return flow of the fuel, causing excessive fuel pressure at cranking rpm. This can allow too much fuel to be forced through the injectors, causing a flooded condition similar to a stuck choke on a carbed engine. Pull a couple of plugs, to see if theyre wet. Maybe hold the throttle wide open while youre cranking it. Someone else mentioned the timing, check to see if its firing when its supposed too. A broken tooth on the dist. gear, sheared roll pin, rotor not installed properly or cracked and spinning on the shaft, can all let it fire at the wrong time. Good luck.

Re: 91 f150 6 cylinder shut off won't restart

If the rotor is turning that means the camshaft is turning. If you get no response from starting fluid and it is firing, all I can imagine being wrong is a failed rocker arm assembly. But I can't imagine it all going at once. I understand you put in new spark plugs? So they wouldn't be fouled from gasoline. I would give it a good shot(five second spray) of starting fluid and try it again if you are sure you are getting good spark to the plugs. It probably won't start, but you should at least get a pop out of it.

I looked down the oil fill and can see the rockers moving when cranking the engine. I only checked number one for spark I'll check the rest today and try the 5 second shot of starting fluid. Thanks
