I can see its obvious that the Corvette Z06 will win. But as much as I like the car, I have to choose the Charger SRT-8. Its got evrything. Power, speed, functionality, and affordability. It's got the best of both worlds. And you can live with it very easily.

Re: Car Comparison's Car Of The Year - Final 10 Vote!!!

Yeah, I realize what you guys are saying about the M5. Great car, great tranny (I've read a few full length articles on it), looks sweet, 4 door sedan, all that. BUT! its still a BMW, so my vote goes to the Z06 for its good looks, bang-for-buck, overall sweet car. I hear this things holds corners like you wouldn't believe too.

Re: Car Comparison's Car Of The Year - Final 10 Vote!!!

i work at a mercedes dealership and just recently we got in a slk55 amg. that car is sweet. does the quarter in 12.7.. i did further research cause i'm new to german cars and i saw they make a freaking 65 package with like a 600 horse eninge in a sl and that car does the quarter in almost the 11's.. i gotta say i really like these mercedes they have interiors far superior to any car i have been in and they sound sweet and are engineered for perfection. i have to change my vote now to a sl65 amg. that is now my favorite car and if i'm lucky i may get a chance to beat on one. so far i have used my g-tech on three of the cars on the lot lol

Subaru Impreza WRX STi. Who needs a car with a high-class interior, F1 transmission, or 500 horsepower engine when you can keep up with the aforementioned car for 1/3rd the price? Besides, with all of that HIGHLY ADVANCED technology, you can bet your bottom dollar that something, somewhere (and probably more than one thing) is not going to work properly. I mean, just look at the interiors of some of these $100,000 cars. There are so many damn buttons and switches, you'd get a migraine just sitting down in the thing and adjusting the controls! Performance, along with simplicity, practicality, and reliability are my criteria, and the STi is a perfect match. With four doors, five-star performance, and a price tag one sixth of many exotics that it can keep up with, how can you go wrong?

sir, i respect your opinion. but have you ever been in a $100.000 supercar? i have. my best friend dad has a ferrari 550 maranello, with fiorana package. there are bnot that much buttons. i get crazy in my dad's mercedes E320(05 model). ive also been in a corvette and 360 modena. not much buttons at all.

when i was at the auto rai in holland a few years ago, the ferrari enzo was there, on display. i was with my best friends dad and my best friend(and a few of his mate's, one owned a maserati 3200 gt, previous model, but it chrashed a year ago, i dont have pictures as i moved to curacao for 2 years and i now life in the UK.) the other one own(ed/s) a porshe GT3), we had VIP passes at ferrari and porsche, and i sat in the ferrari enzo. that car has alot buttons on the steering wheel man.

any way, i dont hope you take this post bad, as i just wanted to give you the fact. love subaru's and many other japanese sport cars lol.

i voted for the F430.

I was mostly referring to the BMW M5. Cars like the F430, SRT-10 and Z06 are much more to my liking, and I have plenty of respect for all of them. But still, at heart, I am a true Japanese sports car enthusiast, and I'm always going to pick one over the competition, regardless of how outclassed it may be. Not that the STi is outclassed in any way, it's easily one of the best performance bargains ever created.

Re: Car Comparison's Car Of The Year - Final 10 Vote!!!

I think it should be one of the higher end companies that wins like ferrari, lamborgini, porshe or etc. these cars are just well rounded cars that pack everything really. mercedes now has the mclaren slr that cars amazing. side note i just did a huge burnout in a CLK500 AMG lol this job is sweet

Yes, but at what price? Sure, the cars may be nearly perfect in every way, but they cost far, far more than most of us will ever be able to afford. What I'm saying is, while cars like the BMW M5, Mercedes SLR, and Ferrari F430 are phenomenal cars, their astronomical prices make them far from accessible. A "Car of the Year" should be a car that most people actually chance of seeing daily, let alone ever buying. It should be a car that has a profound impact on one particular segment of the market, offering unheard-of levels of performance, comfort, or utility, for a very affordable price. Cars like the Mazda MX-5, Chrysler 300C, Ford Mustang GT, Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STi, BMW 3-Series, Lexus IS 250/350, and Chevrolet Corvette Z51 should be contenders for car of the year, not these $100,000+ marvels of engineering that will serve no purpose to most of us, other than something to drool over all day.

Oh, and if it just so happens that everyone posting in this thread is a multi-million dollar entrepreneur who owns at least one of every car on this list, I apologize in advance.
