Valve clearance.....

Please let me know the valves clearance for my Mazda 1.8 liter SOHC of the year 1990 with mechanica gear box. I can't find this information on the owner's manual. Thanks in advance.

Re: Valve clearance.....

There should be an emissions label under the hood. The label will usually have valve clearance information.

Re: Valve clearance.....

OK, I went to the local library today and looked up your car, 1.8 liter SOHC engines for your car have hydraulic lifters/cam followers and do not require adjustment. Noisy lifters would usually indicate a bad or sticky lifter.

Thanks Clifton, so I don't need to open the valve cover anymore. It's a bit noisy when cool but ok when hot. I need to buy a book for this car for the future reference.
