brand new to ford, not sure how everything fits
I'll start off by giving a little history, ive been a pontiac fan for a while as of right now i own a 99 grandam and a 79 firebird, but durring the split between my wife and i she decided she wants the grand am so in my need for a car i went to my next dream car that being a 80s mustang
I found and bought a 1985 5.0 mustang gt, right now it seems to be having clutch problems and i am looking a replacing it, my problem is that being a gm and also an automatic guy i am no to sure what the physical diffrence between a 10in and a 10.5in flywheel is. In my search i found a site saying that the 10.5 clutch fits 86 and up mustangs but in order to get it to work in my 85 id need a 10.5 flywheel to go with it. Now my question is, will the stock bellhousing from my 85 (my guess is it has a 10 inch in it) fit the 10.5 fly wheel and clutch? ive thought about going with an oem clutch but as i am, "if somthing breaks replace it with somthing better" right? Also i am sure to try to add more power to this ride in which case i will need a stronger clutch with more grip. |

Re: brand new to ford, not sure how everything fits
i guess i worded that wrong i have only owned automatics, so that is what i am used to working on. I bought the mustang because it was a manual, i want to make my self learn as much as i can, driving/working on and what not.
so any idea if the bell housing would work for both flywheels? thanks for your replies |
