fuel Economy with topper
I bought my truck from my dad and it has a fiberglass topper on it, and for as long as he has had it, the toppers been on. Does any one out there know if the get better fuel economy with or with out one or if it’s about the same. I have a 1991 F150 XLT 4.9L 8’ box and get about 15-17mpg with the topper.

If its in tune , you should get about 20 with the topper off.

Re: fuel Economy with topper
Running lot's of miles on the 99 F250 I can say I get about 1-2 mpg less mileage when the fiberglass topper is on the truck.
