TBI Injector

im getting pressure from the fuel pump to the injector but the injector wont spray into the throttle body, now i hear that u have to use a volt meter to even see if the injector is getting power but it seems like it isnt.

now i also hear that my distibutor has three notches on it and once it does a full revolution it hits that notch and tells the injector to spray....
does this mean i have a bad distributor? i mean my plugs are getting spark so i guess not.

i can poor gas into the throttle body and it wil crank right up for mabye 2 to 3 seconds and it wil keep running if you keep pooring it in. i just am stumped on the whole situation. the fastest reply will be appreciated greatly.

Lightbulb ignition module

Jason -

the distributor has an electronic 'ignition module' in it that controls the fuel delivery. 90% chance it's your problem. It's so common a lot of people actually carry a spare lol. 5 minute job, $30 part.

just pop the cap off, pull the two plugs off, and swap out. Make sure all the connections are clean, and make sure you use the dielectric grease that comes with the replacement module. it is important to let it dissipate heat evenly. Check the ground strap that goes from the engine block to the righthand rear decklid hinge mount. (weak ground is rumored to be responsible for ignition mod failures) either way, can't hurt.

happy hunting
