92 3.1L water pump

My sister has a dodge caravan 3.1L V6. She has been losing coolant at a rapid rate. It is not in the oil, no outside coolant smell , nothing on the ground, no steam coming out thtail pipe...etc. She took it to an independant auto shop, they told her it was the water pump , then they said it would cost $100 for the pump and $300 for labor.
so what do yo think about this ?

why would that cost so much ?

because labor is a bitch. i just got done doing it for the second time
11 hours. make sure they do timing belt too. you can get the pump at azone for 30. hopefully thats the last one i do. i would think you would see some on the ground if it was the water pump. it has a weep hole when it goes bad.

There is no 3.1 engine. Is it a 3.0 or a 3.3 or 3.8? If it is a 3.0 it involves more labor because of the timing belt removal. The other ones all you have to remove is the serpentine belt.
