2000 Civic LX - No Instrument Lights

Hi All!

I have had this car for over a year and the three instrument panel lights for the climate control don't light up. I always found this to be annoying, especially at night when you can't see them too well, but assumed that's the way it was supposed to be. That was until I was in someone's 99 Civic SI, which had the exact setup as mine, but those three instruments were lit up. Is that only an option for the SI or is there something wrong with my LX that they don't light? What should I check to resolve the issue. Thanks for any help.

The slider on my climate control does not light up anymore but if I lightly bang the dash on the side of the slider (or below it) a few times it turns on. My mechanic told me that it's a common problem.

Oops - forgot to add that I have a LX and the lights are def. supposed to light up.

Tore the damn instrument cluster out and found the two neo-wedge bulbs and have replacements on order. Hope all works and it's nothing electrical.
