help with timing issue
anyone, i have no problem doing the work, i am just not fimilar with this engines internals, I havent inspected it yet but i believe the timing chain broke, its in a 91 Lumina. its a 2.5 4 cyl.
And i havent any spec. books on it either. I need to know where the timing marks (cam and crank gear) sit when putting on a chain. Plus, is this, and i hope not, a interfearence engine? Are there any "watch out for's" with this engine? thanks Last edited by Jonn; 01-04-2006 at 06:59 AM. |

It's been a lot of years, but I kinda remember that this engine doesn't use a chain. I think it's a two-gear drive, with the upper gear being a phenolic plastic-kinda stuff.
