my father has an 86 GT.. and in a rush, locked his keys in the car.
I am pretty sure a slim jim won't work on the slide-locks.. we tried with no succsess. Does anyone have any information or advice.. any help would be appreciated |

My car has the same sideways locks. It took some work, but the security on campus at my university was able to pop the lock after about an hour of fiddling...

very carefully pry on top of window then slide a wedge under glass to keep window open as far as you dare. you can usually get it out about half an inch. then take a solid rod, I like useing antennas the solid shaft type, they hold a bend good, If it has electric locks try pushing the button. If not you are going to have to push the slider with the wire, its tricky but can be done. Use a wood or plastic wedge to hold the window open.
