Oil light flashing Car wont start HELP! - VW Golf 1.4i

Hi All,

This morning I got into my golf and started it fine.....drove down the road I hit a small patch of ice and I skidded a couple of metres, then the car cut out.

Now when I go to start it the oil light is flashing and the car turns over but wont fire.

I have checked the oil and it is near full.....

Please Please Please help!

I recently acquired a 1988 Golf so I don't claim to be much of an expert. At a guess, it sounds like you may have a broken timing belt. Hope that helps.
