Question "CHECK CONTROL" on display 1992 525i

I have a 1992 bmw 525i which ran great up until I parked it last night... The next day the car cranked but would not start... The display on the dash said "CHECK CONTROL" ... " USER'S MANUAL"...
PLEASE HELP ANYONE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Patrick

I changed my check control module and that got rid of the check control display and the car ran fine. The following week the car didn't start again but no display.... The culprit? A faulty fuel pump. It had a dead spot on the armature and would stop at certain points... I replaced the fuel pump and now my car's been running like a champ... The bad fuel smells on your car could probably be a leak somewhere... Trace your fuel lines from the trunk to the engine. Hope this helps and good luck.
