I had a PolarStart (other wise known as Autostart) 3600TW remote car starter installed in my 2004 Silverado. It was installed by a repretable company, recommended to me by the autodealer where I purchased my truck. The next day after having it installed, I noticed that when I turned on my left signal, my four way falshers come on. It does not happen all of the time just some of the time. I spoke to the installer and they are going to have a look at but the impression I got from him over the phoone was that it is unlikely that this problem is a results from their instrallation of the remote starter. I have to disagree because it only began to do this AFTER the remote starter was put in. I was wondering if anybody out there has any experience with such problems and how I should deal with the install company if they are inwilling to admit that they are at fault. I take the truck in tomorrow and will update you with the results.
My thinking is that there is a loose wire that never got put back right hence the reaon for the fourways coming on only some time of the time when I turn left. Regards, JB |

Re: Remote Car Starter
im pretty sure GM has a problem with the multifunction switch/hazards. the hazards are ususally the first thing to go but it being a 2004 ya never know, it seems too new.

ya it is probably not from the install, becasue a remote start should not be hooked to the turn signals at all, might be connected to the parking lights but thats it.

Update: Took truck to installer and of course could not replicate the problem. They installed a new remote starter and new "promo mod"??. They told me If the problem still occurs they will unhook the remote starter and let me drive truck with it unhooked to see if the problem still occurs and if it does then go to chev dealer. I spoke to chev dealer and they said the problem sounds like a multifunction swith which will be replced under warranty. Time will tell. Will update with the final outcome in the next little while Thanks for the replies.
