anyone know how to remove the Belt Tensioner Assembly

on a 96 cavalier 2.2 the Belt Tensioner is also the idler pulley on my car the reson is becasue i been getting a clicking nosie when i am at idle and when i accurate. the pulley is a little bent should i just get a new pulley or replace everything. i ran the car with out the belt and there was no nosie so it hase to be the idler pulley

If it is the same as my wife's '95 with 2.2, it is fairly simple. I put a jack under the engine to support it. I removed the upper motor mount and the belt. Now I was also replaceing the power steering pump and the water pump, so I had the power steering pump and the alternator already off and the tensioner was very easy to get to. Two bolts hold the tensioner assembly in place. If you have skinny arms you may be able to get to the tensioner without removing much, but I would rather remove a few extra things and have room to work. If the '95 is different than the '96, someone please chime in.
