Seat Belt stuck in Latch

Does anyone have any ideas how to get the seat belt latch to open when it gets stuck. The driver's side belt is stuck in the latched state.

This is on a 1995 Dodge Dakota.
Thanks for any ideas!

Re: Seat Belt stuck in Latch

Did you try spraying WD-40 or PB Blaster in there? It may just be stuck.

Hope this helps

smacking on the back side of the latching mechanism with something heavy( ie hammer usually works ) on most vehicles even when the belt is latched you can open them this way....done it a few times myself..worth a try ..good luck.
