railroading it?

but yes, if i get it rebuilt like i want...i should probably break it in properly. meaning no revving into high RPM's, no hard launching, no high boosting. hmm...that doesnt sound like much fun, maybe i should get a slightly used motor. j/k...but then again, i shouldn't need to try to hard to beat most things on the street.

Re: Crap zeeeedz

I have also heard to baby any trans or motor after being replaced, which I do but older mech. told me to break a car in by the way you are going to drive it( Drive soft break in soft; Drive hard, break in hard, so to the question - Look at Nascar - They do Trans and eng and I know it's only togeter at 500 miles but compare to regular use and street racing(I mean buddy comparsion)(LOL) I believe the older mech. has something about this. I have tried it on car's i don't give a s&*! ABOUT and they will not blow - Let's gets lots of advise --- To break her soft or hard (Get your mind out of the gutters)

yeah i have heard that but if you look at the reasoning behing breaking in a motor, it doesnt make sense.

you break in a motor softly by not revving too high and such things giving time for the pistons to expand and retract within reason, seals and such things can expand, lets everything do what it needs to do, basically.

so..i think i will trust the manufacturer, engineer, and others when they tell you to break in your engine properly according to their specifications. no, it wont blow up but yes, it will increase how long your motor will last and how much abuse it will take.

Re: Crap zeeeedz

I haven't broken in a motor myself, but all I'd do is dive normally and no high boost till 1K miles... maybe a few times, but that's it...

yeah, i will probably do atleast 500 miles. after that i may get a little more spirited...but i still wont boost anywhere near its capacity. the turbos i am looking at have a 15psi preset so i will probably keep it around there until 1000 miles.

Re: Crap zeeeedz

In poland we call people that put on scoops like that on a car:
"country tuners" and their favorite style is "country tuning" from Polish "Wieś tuning".
Their favorite car is a Opel calibra minimum 10 yrs old and after minimum 8 major crashes.

And that scoop is i think from rieger - a german tuner company.
