funny you say they rebuild there motors after 2 runs.
top fuel dragsters rebuild after every run. so in your theory a 4 cylinder is better if they have to rebuild it every two runs. yes your right there is no replacement for displacement. I would rather hear a built V8 rumbling, but when a V8 gets smacked down by a 4 or 6 cylinder its pretty impressive.

Re: Holy S***

lol. this is really funny. i cant believe someone said the GTI is light. im laughing my balls off here. ive only spent a few hours on here today and i've been overwhelmed by some really... off statements.

anyway, disclaimer aside...
the difference between a gti 1.8t and a gti vr6 is that the vr6 is 6 speed and a tad quicker, but its no different than the differencer between say.. a civic ex and a civic hx (i wouldnt know... but seeing the stuff that goes on around here, seems like if i put it in terms of civics, everyone will understand).

and i dont think you have a 337 dude. unless the guy got an aftermarket paintjob that he didn't tell you about. 337's only come in reflex silver (rflxsilver owns yayuh)

and finally, as for free mods, define free.
you can disable your DRLs... thats about it. there's a helluva lot of stuff you can DIY for minimal amounts of money, but nothings free.

Re: Holy S***

Difference between the 1.8T and the VR6 is weight, stock vs stock power, and the money that it takes between the 2 to make power vs money expended. The 1.8T in the short run will make more power with chip and such. The VR6 in the long run will make more power with a turbo application. The power vs money expended on the VR6 and the 1.8T is a big difference. So the 1.8T is cheaper to mod but the VR6 with a turbo application is much more expensive. Good luck. Yes you will need to replace the 1.8T's clutch if you do get more power they are renown for going out. The VR6 is known for going through coil packs every 2-3 years. Yes VW' weigh quite a bit more than other cars like Honda's unless you are talking about the MKI and MKII's. Again good luck on modding your GTI it can be a lot more powerful than it is. Proceed with caution however.
