No Spark

The car has electronic ignition. The car cranks, and all other functions are working carb, alternator, starter, ect....
Just no spark is being delivered to the plugs. I replaced the electronic ignition control module already, and checked all connections from under the dash and fuses, nothing there. Any help or ideas would be great.

Re: No Spark

get yourself a jumper wire hook one end to the positive terminal of the battery and hook the other end to the terminal on the side of the distributor marked BAT (unplug the one that is in there) and try to start it. If you get spark you have a wiring problem not a distributor problem and vice versa. Hope this helps

Re: No Spark

I would also inspect the cap and rotor and replace those if nessecary.

Another easy way to check if a car has spark is to take a spark plug puller or something ur going to be able to hold onto the spark plug wire with without grounding yourself and getting shocked. Pull the plug and have someone crank it being careful to stay clear of fan etc, and hold the end of the plug wire close to ground, if u see spark u got spark up to the end of that wire (doesn't guarantee that your plugs are good though)

Once you do what brian70 said and you have no spark still I would definately think it could be the coil, rotor, cap, plug wires, and plugs. If you do get spark like brian said it is a wiring problem, so then I would check the primary side of the ignition system.

If i'm wrong on any of this plz correct me, I'm still learning about cars and even though i've taken a tuneup/electrical class at my college I'm still learning.
