95 Jeep GC Laredo Tranny
My tranny goes but it seems to rev whn it is in OD.If I put the tranny in 2 it goes great but it just seems like I have to floor the pedal to get it going fast. Also every time I start the car the overdirve button is either on or off.I can not switch it anymore.I have to shut of the ignition to get it to hopefully switch to the desired position I what the overdrive to be in.Sometimes too my 4wd does not disengage. Can someone please help me.

I've got the exact same problem with my 95 Grand Cherokee, I-6. Sometimes, I start the Jeep and the overdrive dash light remains lit and I find that 1st gear and overdrive no longer exist. I suppose that's why you have no go starting from a full-stop and your engine seems to be over-revving at higher speeds. Other times, I start up and I have no problems and the tranny works like a charm (and the overdrive switch works) - all the way till I turn off the ignition. It does not seem to be related to whether the engine is warm. Unfortunately, I've got no clue what's going on - does this sound like a transmission control module problem?

Re: 95 Jeep GC Laredo Tranny
I took a look around this site and it seems many others have had the problem, and most of the solutions require replacing/fixing the transmission control module. I'm gonna take my Jeep to the dealer to see what they'd suggest before replacing the module.
