Talking Quit ABS Forever (1989 to 1992)

OK guys... This is a good post for the peolpe who want's to quit the ABS system from 1989 to 1991) (maybe 1992 too).. OR Blazers with this kind of ABS system...

i already replace speed sensor and nothing works..(this blazer models dont have sensors in the wheels)

This Conversion Works only with blazers with ABS module like this..(look at the Picture)
[IMG][/IMG]
And yes.. i'll clean all the dust

so.. i bought a new proportioning valve from a 88 chevy S-10 (non-ABS)
in a junk yard.. for only 15 dlls..

1-Disconnect the negative Battery cable.
2-Disconnect the ABS module cables.
3-Quit the ABS module (black box)
4-buy a new extension for the brake lines from valve fo fit the master cylinder ...
5-Reconnect the brakes lines..
6-Throw away all the ABS cables ...
7-bleed the Brakes... and that's all..

The ECM will not detect the ABS anymore...

you have a new-old brake system.
You already have an 88 blazer brake system..

my new brakes works 100+1 % great

look at the new picture...

i took this picture in the night , so there's not too much light.

i hope this little tutorial help to all.

this is the ABS

this is the ABS proportioning valve,
this has two valves that connect each other..
one valve is a mechanical valve and the other is an electronic valve sharing the brake fluid. this two valves are the ABS system.[IMG][/IMG]

Re: Re: Quit ABS Forever (1989 to 1992)

I had a 92 Blazer that had ABS problems. It had the big control box above the left front fender. All I had to do was disconnect the two electrical connectors on the top. No ABS and no light.

Nalgman
The purpose of the proportioning valve is to proportion the brake apply between the front and rear brakes.
It has nothing to do with ABS.
If you want to disable ABS, all you have to do is unplug the module.
