question for ya

My car has a new autometer oil gauge that came with it. The gauge is electric so it doesnt have the small oil tube that normally goes to the block. It says im suppose to run a wire to the sender unit. Well i have no idea where thats at on this car. If someone could help me out id appreciate it (a pic would be even greater). Oh yea almost forgot, i believe its got the 1.8 in it since its the DOHC. Thanks Ed

Re: question for ya

follow the the wire on the gauge out of the firewall to the sender. it leads directly to the sender. its location is dependant on where the original owner put it. just follow the wire and it'll lead you there

I think he means the car came with the gauge uninstalled, and he is trying to install it.

Re: question for ya

well, assuming if there is a sender unit there, it will be on the block where the oil pressure sensor is or the oil pressure sensor is "T"ed with the oil pressure sender using an adapter and/or combined with other oil lines.

start with the oil pressure sensor location (above the oil filter. see if it leads to the sender. if you dont have a sender, you will need to buy one from an autometer distributor.
