::95 Blazer:: Play in rear??

when i hit the gas from a stop the engine goes then a split second later you feel a bad ass thump then it goes like theres a travel.any ideas

Possibly universal joints " u joints" There is a TSB for driveline clunk that is normal, did yours get worse over time ? At least rule out the u joints and then proceed from there.
