Gas Fillup take 15 minutes.. tank overflow

I have a strange problem which I have never encountered before. The gas seems to bubble up to the top of the gas tank immediately after the fuel begins to enter the tank (even on an empty tank). I have about 3-4 seconds before the pumps stops and I have to wait another 3-4 seconds for the gas to settle down before I begin refueling until the tank is really full (which is the best challenge.

This has been going on for a few months. I have had teh care since 2001 without issue. Has anyone ever encountered such a problem?

I have exactly the same problem with my 2001 Sienna. It has happened twice in the past two months! Have you found the solution.

Thanks,
