Radio died, screwy electronics

I have a 90 Olds 98 that's having electrical problems. Or so I've been told. I don't know a thing about cars, so please forgive me. Anyway, I was driving it yesterday, and all of the sudden the radio died on me as well as the climate control. I turned the car off and let it rest for a while, and when I went to start it, the date, time, and all of the other information had been reset. I vorrected the time and date, turned the car off then on again, and the information was reset AGAIN and the radio still didn't work.

Any advice? If I have an idea of the problem, I will know what I need to get fixed. Thanks in advance.

Amy

Re: Radio died, screwy electronics

The radio has a clock and tuning memory circuit that needs 12 volts power at all times. Fuse #11 is supposed to keep this active when the key is off.

good luck girl! watch out for shady repair people. but if you have money go to an auto electric repair shop and get a diagnosis then have one of your male friends call several places and ask for a quote.
