I don't know this is the first time I have ever heard that the KAs were rock solid. I know the pistons won't hold up to mutch but will the rods and crank hold 450hp? I was thinking of boring it .010 over since I will prob be working with a block with 100k+ miles on it that needs some TLC how much will this effect my boosting potential? When you say 400hp on the stock block you are not talking about stock internals too are you?

What are you talking about? the piston ringlands will be the first to go on KAs... which would prolly screw up the cylinder walls but whatever.

Just get a KA, Bore it over .10, get some pistons and be set for 400WHP. get Rods, cams and a port and be set for 600whp

Cool now all I need to do is find a good aftermarket place for the KA, so I can get my fuel system, exaust, intake, ECU, boost control, ignition, pistons, headgasket, fuel pump, intercooler, turbo and manifold. Any ideas? I guess I am looking at about 5 or 6k there hu? Well that is about as much as I was looking at for the LS1 swap not counting the cost of the actual LS1. Hu that is a tough one. Well I'll have plenty of time to think about it while I am saving up the other $3000 LOL. If yall know of any good aftermarket sites for the KA send them my way.

Hey...

Hey RW240 im pretty sure its the VG30DETT that was swapped on Fresh Alloy not a VQ35DE. The VG30DETT was a tight fit and logic would say since the VQ is .5L bigger that size has to go somewhere whether it be vertically or horizontally.

my favorite swaps in order:
RB25DET
SR20DET
RB26DETT
CA18DET
RB20DET

Hey I read on here somewhere that the stock diff tends to pop at over 500hp, just out of my morbid imagiantion, is there any aftermarket diffs/halfshafts that can take considerably more than that? Or that can at leased handle that reliably?

There have been both. The VQ35DE was in an S14. The VG powered car was wayy to slow for how much effort he put into it and I think he sold it like a month after it got running.

The 300ZX stuff will work if its installed as a package diff/axles/hubs. and will take more power than you'll ever make.

Or you could get a KAAZ, not Kazz. If you drop 900$ on something I'd think you could spell a damn four letter name.

So Japan's best handling car (Rx7) would handle better.......with a V8?

I'd have to see it way before I'll ever believe it.

Awww Sweet Dude!!111!!!111 THATS SO FUCKING COOL! A 93 CAPRICE???? Shit!!1 Why do you post this crap in a 240SX forum? I think its because everyone on Impala forums realizes your a loser so you go around to other forums and try to appear cool by knowing about a car nobody cares about. "Man, Im gonna show these 240SX guys whos boss with my busted Impala that I raced into a junkyard."

Hay! thats cool! Because if I had put all the money I have invested intomy car in the motor I'd probably have that much power. But something about bombing down the road in some busted POS with Eibachs and KYBs with 600whp doesnt appeal to me. But what do I know =/ I don't even have cam bearings.

who are you kidding? you don't have a grand in your bank account and neither do I.

Then theres the the fact that I have nothing to prove to you. if you want to go around on the internet E-Thuggin it up with your shitbox of a car be my guest. But I don't care to get sucked into somebullshit where you have the insecurity to try and race someone over the internet. But I suppose if I raced my car into a junkyard and had nothing better to do I'd be doing the same thing... wait... nah...

I built my car to do what I want to do with it, which is drift with road course as a secondary, I feel no need to justify to some dude without any fast vehicle why I don't run 10s.

also there is the fact its never gonna happen. Since your never gonna come to Texas and Flordia is the biggest abortion of a state since Georgia or Tennesee.

Cliff Notes:

SRPower realizes he isn't shit in the Impala community so he thugs it up on 240SX forums

I have no need to justify any of my actions to someone who..
-thinks 240SXs have vacuum lines for the AC
-thinks motors need cam bearings to rev high / last long
-can in anyway justify 275s on an 8J besides "Class restrictions"
-currently has no fast car
-has raced his old shitbox with 900 billion HP into a junkyard.

All of this can be boiled down further to me shoving a big heaping pile of "Fuck You Jackass" into SRPowers face.

Re: LS1 engine swap!

SR20DETpower: I understand you don't like to be flamed, but if you come into a thread and start bashing someone's car because he favors it to a v8 model in a forum that is designated for 4-cylinders, you're more or less asking for it.

I would very much appreciate that if you're going to ask me to contact someone that you yourself would not continue to instigate with that person. This is not a place for stupid arguments, it's a place for discussion. If you're going to slam on 240's and the more reasonable engine options for the car then go to a different forum dealing with v8's and do it. If you can offer some pointers and views from both sides of the argument, you're more than welcome to stay. However, I will no longer tolerate such petty bickering from anyone. We are here to share knowledge, help each other out and enjoy ourselves.

If anyone has any questions/comments, PM me. Thread closed.
