Question 97 DeVille... Keyless entry question...

I was wondering if every 97 DeVille has keyless entry? I bought a remote and have tried to program it but it doesnt work... Is there a way to check if my car has keyless entry or maybe the remote is the wrong one??

Any help would be appreciated. I would really like to get this working, it's starting to get really cold up here!!!! TIA!

No, I didnt buy it from a dealer. I bought it off e-bay. It stated it was from a DeVille. It is remote "2" does that make any difference? Does it have to be remote "1"

Any ideas of what a remote at the dealership costs? Thanks.

It doesn't matter if you program a #1, or a #2, but there are many Cadillac remotes that LOOK alike, but are not the proper one for the vehicle.

For the 96-97 Deville, you need

FCC: ABO1602T

#1 = Part # 16183016

#2 = Part # 16196066

That's the problem then. My FCC ID: KOBUT1BT

GM/UTA 25665575

I got the wrong remote. Do you know what type of vehicle this is for? Maybe someone one here can use it... Thanks for the link and the info. I checked out the site it says 50$ for a remote for a DeVille. Is that what you paid for your's? Just curious if they have used one's or I looked in the wrong place? How much does it cost at the dealership? Any idea? Thanks.
