Neon "Projector" headlights

Has anybody bought these? I got them from ebay they are the clear ones not the halos. They arent bright when I have the "projector" lenses on.Why? the brights are awesome. I noticted when I looked into them before putting them in they had a piece of plastic covering half of where the bulb shines out at whats up with that?

Re: Neon "Projector" headlights

most of your e bay pro beam headlights require a HID (high intensity discharge) conversion. Not saying you didnt know what it ment just easier to spell it out and not have to ask questions later.I am just guessing here but I would have to say that the plastic covering the lense is to help concentrate the beam instead of letting the light diffuse in a wide beam. But I'm no expert.

Re: Neon "Projector" headlights

Alot of people complain about the projetor lenses when they put them on a neon. As 99 Neon R/T pointed out, you will need to do an HID conversion to get any type of decent light output. eBay or not, the projectors aren't very good on the neon w/o the HID. Modern Performance carries a new projector headlight for only $140. Here is the link...

the piece I was talking about is in front of the headlight bulb it covers half of the light it looks like I wonder if I could break it off and make it brighter I dont know what the purpose is it dont look like its anything to help concentrate the light or anything.
