Indeed, those poppets do not look like they're very well sealed. Before the 4 tabs that surround the injector nozzle there are two rubber discs with a space inbetween that I think are supposed to "seal" the nozzles in (really I think they're just meant to hold them in place). When I replaced my CPI I put o-rings in those spaces, so hopefully that will give me a better seal!
