What kind of car should my mom get?

Well my mom is getting a new car in february. She wants a 4 door sedan for sure because my dad drives an expedition and I'm getting a yukon. Probably needs to be around the $30k area new or slightly used (less than 10k miles, Nothing older than '05) (She would be able to get a much nicer car but my parents are giving me her Yukon and using my old '98 explorer for a trade in, which will maybe get $3000-$4000) I'm pretty sure my dad won't buy anymore american cars also. I've been thinking maybe an Acura TL, Toyota Avalon, or Mercedes C240/C230?

I was gonna suggest an Acura TSX, Mercedes-Benz C240, Lexus ES330, BMW 325i. They are all listed in the $30k price range.

The TL is a good car if you can get one for $30,000. The msrp is a bit higher.

The new Avalon is a great big huge boat. Tons of room with Toyota quality. No fun at all to drive, but if space is a need, its an amazing car.

The Mercedes C-Class is not a good car at all. Unreliable, not very big, not very nice to drive. Its not what you would expect from Mercedes.

Another option might be the Audi A4 2.0t Quattro. It shouldn't be too hard to find a slightly used one around $30,000. She also might want to check out the new Lexus IS250 and the new BMW 325i, both are very solid cars.

Acura TSX is probably a better choice then the TL. I always liked the TL better until I drove in the TSX. I was so impressed. I highly recommend it.

Re: What kind of car should my mom get?

My uncle has had his '05 TL for a year now and he is very pleased with it. Its an amazing car for a little over $30k. It drives very well and handles great, and it has more than enough power for a daily driven car.

At that price range you really can't go wrong with a Maxima. If I was older and wanted a reliable 4 door sedan that basically has everything I wanted on a budget, that is as far as I would look.

If she's used to an SUV, the TSX is probably too small. TL is much more in the size range. She might also want to look at the Infiniti M35
