Insurance hasn't looked at it yet (probably will this week) but they said the body shop said it was a 'partial total' (??).

Re: An Odd Co-incidence
It can be fixed, given how much money you want to spend on fixing it. I doubt the insurance company will, so you might want to try with them what I did with the other guy's insurance after my wreck, which was to ask the insurance to pay for parts and do the labor yourself.
If you do want to fix it, then you're going to need access to another Caprice (or Impala) between '80 and '90 to donate the back half of the body, and you're also going to need a welder. You'll be cutting off the roof at the tops of the A and B pillars, and then the body inside the car (perhaps from under the driver's seat on back). Do the same to your car, simply swap the bodies (you'll want some friends to help you here) and weld your cuts back together, paint to match and then it will look like it never was wrecked. |

Well, looks like I might just buy it back (only $100 dollars less and then sell it High Performance Motors, an ex-polic car shop, to see if they want to use it for anything such as parts like motor, tranny, accessories, etc.).
