Jiffy Lube T-Tec, have you tried it?

Have heard so many nagative things about "flush" tanny and I really hesiatate about it.

I am trying a solution called Auto-RX. It works for my engine and I am hoping it wil also improve my trans. The instruction suggested running for 1000 miles and then use Jiffy Lube's T-Tec to "exchange" all oil inside the tranny including torque converter. This process I heard is just exchanging oil instead of high power flush which may make some damage to older tranny.

Have anyone tried this process through Jiffy? Are they "professional" enough to use specific ATF+3 oil and not mixing other oil? Is it true that this process is milder than flushing?

My engine is becoming more powerful and silky after the Auto-RX. Hope my tranny will get similare result without damaging it...

It has been well known that using any fluid other than the proper Mopar Fluid is a death sentence for these transmissions (although I use Amsoil Synthetic ATF with no problem). Fluid additives are also known for bringing the same results. If you don't have the $$ to pay for a new trans, I would leave it alone if I were you.

I trusted Jiffy Lube to do the flush on my ford explorer. I told the gentleman that it calls for Merc V tranny fluid only. In big bold letters on the dipstick it says, "MERC V ONLY". He told me "Not a problem" . A couple days later when I was filing my paperwork, I noticed they used a tranny fluid which was allegedly, the same as Merc V. I researched the fluid they used, and the company that produces it make the claim that it is an acceptable replacement. I don't remember the fluid name and too lazy to go pull the paper work. From what I understand, if my vehicle was under warranty and the tranny went bad with anything but Merc V in it, it would void the warranty.
You make your own conclusions about jiffy lube. I obviously didn't ask the right questions! I've always gone there for oil changes, but I will no longer spend my money there!!!! I hate deceit!!!!!!!!!!

I am not too anxious to have some oil change kid at Jiffy Lube screwing around with my trannie. Up to now I have had my Dodge minivans done at the Chrysler Dealers with either their machine or a BG machine depending which dealer I am at. Good results up to now. The one I have now, had a flush last with a BG machine at 85K. Now at 106K and going to do it again this coming Spring.
Seems to work for me.

Do not even think about it. Do not put dope in your trans unless you want to kill it.
The only good dope is good clean fluid.
Most late cry modles have went to ATF=4 trans fluid.
There is a cry tsb out on it.
Do not let a quick/jeffie lub cange it and use a fit all fluid out of one barrell fits all.
If you want your trans to live to a ripe old age use the trans fluid that the dealer calls for in it.

My advice is NEVER take your Caravan to Jiffy-Lube or Expressway... I have heard too many stories about these guys putting the wrong stuff into the tranny and the tranny literally blowing up. Take it to a dealer.

Yes, I listened to you folks suggestions and took mine to a Chrysler dealer. It costed twice but a peace of mind.
The flush turned out pretty smooth tranny operation.
