2002 grand caravan Airbag light

hey all just wondering why my airbag light would be comming on??? shuts off then comes back on after moreless it seems it heats up?? the book just says to take it to dealer????

help??

you have no choise thedealer must check the codes
to locate the area of the fault possibly the clockspring or seatbelt pretensioners or passenger squib circuit

There was a HUGE recall on the clockspring in the steering wheel for 96, 97 and 98's... maybe others as well... take it to your dealer and if it was recalled, they will fix it free. Seriously, don't wait... the last thing you need in a crash is an airbag that doesn't work, or maybe an airbag that deploys for no apparent reason at all... get goin'!
