Brake Fluid for '79 Golf GLD

Hi,

I just purchased a '79 Golf GLD to putt around in.

The question is I need to bleed the break lines, but dont know if it needs mineral or dot3 brake fluid?

I have the service manual, however it does not seem to specify!

I would appreciate any help!
