96 probe what to look out for
I'm going to look at a 96 probe. I want it for the winter so I can Store my mustang for the winter. I has low milage 69,000 and they are asking 2900. From what they told me there is nothing wrong. What should I look out for and how reliable are these cars.

Re: 96 probe what to look out for
gt, se, base? you should look out for the automatics, check to see if basic maintenece is done, etc. the cars are reliable if you take care of them, i.e. keeping up on maintenece. the kl03 is very well built (gt version).

Re: 96 probe what to look out for
Oil leaks, valve tap (normal thing but make sure it's not the timing belt tensioner arm), oil in spark plug wells, idle surges, broken rear endlinks.
Body wise rust around the sunroof and the lack of clearcoat on the hood, roof and hatch.
