Angry 1999 Ford Escort Sedan Horn Problems

I just researched this topic on the internet and it seems that these cars seem to have a lot of horn issues. Should have known before I bought the car, ugh.

Anyway, I was in a hurry to buy the car..didn't have one any longer and desperately needed one by Monday since I have places to go and things to do and no way of getting there.

Anyway, I found a 1999 Ford Escort and bought it.
Everything seems to be working fine except the horn. I didn't know till I drove it home and almost got hit by some idiot. Yea, would have sucked getting hit right after I bought the car.

So anyway...
The horn doesn't work. When I press it the button clicks, but no sound. Also it doesn't make a sound when I lock it of course.
So I was wondering if anybody knows what the problem might be? I'm supposed to have it looked at/fixed (if possible) on Tuesday. But this seems to be a sensitive subject for Ford Escorts so I don't know if it's fixable anyway.
Also, when I bought the car I forgot to ask the owner for a manual book thing that explains all it's features. There doesn't seem to be one anywhere in the car so I'm assuming they didn't have one any longer.

There are a bunch of buttons on the steering wheel and I have no clue what they're for. "ON" and "OFF" buttons and whatnot...?
Does anybody know if I can possibly find explanations of its features somewhere online? I'd like to know what I can do with the car, haha.

The buttons on your steering wheel are the cruise control.

Horn problem might just be a fuse.

I have an older Escort so I'm not familiar with the fuses but they are probably just above your left knee when in the driver's seat. Probably have a plastic cover over them and should be labeled.

In my humble opinion: A horn is one of the most useless things ever put on a car. Blowing a horn at someone usually makes a bad situation worse. Just politely flip him off!

If the people you bought it from refuse to fix it then just learn to live without it. Or fix it later. The rest of the car is probably very nice. Grand Rapids will be quieter with it broke

Anyway, check the fuse first.

Haha, thanks.
Yea, I'm gonna have the fuse checked out. Hopefully it can be fixed, if not then oh well. I don't exactly use the horn very often, but sometimes you have to since some people are either blind or act it. Flipping off is definitely something I use more often heh.

And I did find the guide book online that explained the cruise control buttons..so now I know what they are.
