Question 99 sub sont start

i was instructed to "test" to see if i had an anti-theft system in my sub as i was trying to decide what i needed for a remote start. I rolled down the driver side window and remote locked the doors after waiting a couple minutes i reached through the window and unlocked the door "manually" i then opened the door which i was told would activate an "alarm" (horn honking) if i had an anti-theft system. Nothing happened. Well when my wife went to drive it (for the first time) two days later the sub died after about six blocks. We got it home thanks to a tow and i have tried to get it started but i am not getting the whine that the fuel pump typically makes. Could this be associated with the anti-theft system or am i just out a fuel pump? any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Re: 99 sub sont start

The only thing I see factory installed is the passlock system (option) which reads the ignition key. If there was an aftermarket system installed it surely would have activated when you did your "test" and not 2 days later if it was driven during those 2 days??? Everything I'm reading in my '98 manual says that the factory passlock will activate within 10 seconds not 6 blocks. I'm thinking more of a fuel problem given your description. Hope this helps..........Steve

Re: 99 sub sont start

check and see if you got fuel pressure. The port should be on top of your engine. Follow your fuel lines up and you should see it.
