shock question
hey guys. i have a quick question about some shocks. i have a 96 cvpi. the shocks are worn out. a friend of mine has the regular cv shocks that he said he would give me. i was wondering, how much difference in ride quality is there between pi shocks and regular shocks. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Re: shock question
in aftermarket shocks they all take the same regular and cvpi. on pre 03 CVPI's we replace them with sensatracs.

Re: shock question
the heavy duty police shocks are twice as stiff as the regular ones.
The regular ones ride nice but don't keep the tires in contact with the pavement quite as well, therefore, don't handle as well. The aftermarket shocks such as sensatracs are sort of in between the two.

Re: shock question
On the rear we use coil overs. Really improves the handling.

Re: shock question
The "standard" shocks are NOT enough to dampen the stronger "PI" springs effectively. Sure it will work, but if you drove the same car with the correct PI shocks you would notice the difference.
