XBOX 360 launches today -- did you wait in line?

There you go -- official news reports, and (probably) the first in a line of inevitable suits. I've said it before and I'll say it again: while it sure isn't my gig, I'm glad there's people out there willing to stand in long lines in the cold and shell out hundreds of dollars just to be the first one to own a system -- someone's gotta be the fodder Now a year or so from now, if I were to decide and buy a system (for some reason beyond me) I know that mine will be that much more solid and glitch-free.

I find it rather interesting that Microsoft reps claim it's only a "very few isolated cases" -- that's just PR jargon for "the real hardcore game players are the one's finding this stuff out." Now, the average player probably won't be spending five or six hours straight playing these systems (on or offline) but that doesn't mean that the problem isn't still lurking in their system, just waiting for the one time when they DO decide to have a marathon session.

Something tells me extended warranty offers are going to become more popular

yeah i know. have you guys played PGR3 yet. I got it from gamefly and decided to keep it, which is nice because i saved about 12 dollars on the game.

that's not too bad. i have a friend in ohio who waited 10 hours and got 2 systems. then sold both on ebay for a considerable profit. i wish i had done that.

A couple friends from work and I will be doing that for PS3...we'll set the reserve pretty high and hope for the best and if it doesn't sell for what we want then we got a PS3.

ya but for some reason i am thinking that sony won't be quite as short with shipment when it does come out. and since it's not a domestic product, i don't think it will re-sell for as much as the 360. if you know what i mean. but ya you sure should do that. you could get a nice profit.

I hope Sony bought some of those 360s and run tests on it for flaws that they can prevent for their PS3, like those overheating parts because the Xbox doesnt have enough fans..

why would they need another system to figure out what will help theirs. just testing the PS3 enough hours i think would do it. but i guess to see what microsoft did and how they built it. but then again, i don't think sony wants to "be" like microsoft.

xbox is a joke, Playstation is the way to go, but serious gamers use computers.
