Nitrous Question

Ok I Have Decided To Drop A Zc Into My Crx. The Thing I Want To Know Is What Would Be The Safest Shot I Could Put In With Alot Of Power. And I Know It Would Be Better In A B Series But I Cant Afford That Right Now. Maybe My Next Project. I Was Thinking 50-70 Shot Would Be Good But I Had A Friend With A B16 Non Vtec That Was Running A 75 Shot And Blew A Couple Of Head Gaskets. Please Help Me Guys. Thanks

Re: Nitrous Question

Never heard of a B16 non-vtec. Maybe he didn't have vtec hooked up... Or maybe it was a B18a1/b1?

As far as nitrous...

Re: Nitrous Question

it all depends on how you tune the motor. if its tuned for nitrous then it should hanlde, if not then run alittle less.

my friend had a b16 4th gen and he was running a 65 shot, and he made so much passes and the motor held up but he had his fuel and timing down so it was safe. if your worried about blowing the motor then run just a 50 shot

Re: Nitrous Question

yes the zc will hold a 70 shot my last crx did just fine as a matter of fact it ran close to a 13.3-13.5. but i had intake, header, exhaust, complete msd setup, b&m fuel pressure regulator. just dont get stupid with nitrous that is most peoples problem in my opinion nitrous is safer than turbo and a supercharger just dont hit the rev limiter while engaging NOS that is probably your friends problem and his car is a b18 not b16. if your gonna do it get the ZEX kit it is the safest NOS kit and easiest to hook up

Re: Nitrous Question

Spend the extra money and tune. With a good tune you will make more power and not blow your motor up.

Re: Nitrous Question

a port and polish by itself wont add that much power, another mod would be a set of cams and a intake mani and tb. that will jump your power up pretty good after its tuned

Re: Nitrous Question

Yeah p&p won't help you that much, if you were boosted I would say sure go for it. Like killer said get a intake mani and throttle body, or have your stock throttle body bored.

cams would be the next best bang for the buck after your nitrous. Check out the links in my sig for all sorts of zc stuff

ZEX kits have the highest failure rates out of any brand out there.

i call B.S. Out of the 8 people i know at the track that use zex it has never been the problem with any breakdown. in my experience zex has worked 100% of the time without fail.

He's telling the truth. I refuse to run a Zex kit. Try doing some research before you yell BS.
