Door ajar light on 02 explorer stays on

My wife has a 02 explorer. Sometimes the door ajar light in the insterment panel stays on while driving and the dome light will stay on after the car is shut off.......I was told it was a senser if this right where is it located...........thanks

They are usually inside the door on the door latch.
Give the latch a good shot of PB blaster and see if it helps.
If so you may need to replace sensor or door latch.
