all the wires are exposed (i'm tearing everything apart already)
i thought i found the short once, but that wasn't it

one thing i've noticed...the voltage drops at the battery from a strong 13.3 v to 11.8 v and then it stalls...somethings shorting the system!

i found it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you won't believe this...it was the electronic choke mechanism.
remember in the old days when the thermostat coil would get old and stick???
you'd have to open it up.
well........now i wait for the engine to warm up and pull the plug on the choke
and i found the short!!!they didn't wrap the wires good enough at the factory so a hot wire(the one with the foil shielding)was making contact with a direct ground.

i'm thinking of replacing the crank positioning sensor

it's in the shop again...maybe a certified technician can figure it out(they have diagnostics)
