Remote start+Door locks

I was thinking of putting a remote start and keyless entry system in my 97 Lumina. First of all, I have heard how tricky it can be, but i;m still willing to give it a try. Does anyone know if the door locks are positive, negative, or reverse polarity. Also, What is a DEI starter and are Commando systems any good.

Thanx For The Help

Re: Remote start+Door locks

dei tend to not have very good range. I would recommend the one I have, its an ultrastart 1250 mad by ast, you can read up on it at ultrastarters.com. Compustar are pretty decent units also. I believe the door locks are posative triggered, so you will need a couple relays if your starter has negative outputs. You can head on over to http://www,bulldogsecurity.com and get a vehicle tech sheet on your car that will give you wire locations and colors to simplify the install process. Even though you may not have a bulldog starter, this will work reguardless.

You'll also have to purchase a module to bypass the VATS system for it to work.
