Instrument panel lost power

I have a 98 Grand Caravan w/117K miles. It has sporatically lost power to the dash. When that happens, the check engine and ABS lights come on but everything else is dead. This has happend numerous times but always comes back. I have checked grounds, fuses ect to no avail. It seems dead for good now. Any ideas?

try going under the hood in the power dist center above the battery and find the IOD fuse and pull it and reseat it a couple of times and see if that helps your symptoms , this will sometimes fix dash anomalies. Let us know how you make out.

Wouldn't you know it started working this evening. But I pulled the fuse out a couple of times to clean the leads. It is working now! Thanks a bunch.

I've had similar problems on 2 different occasions several years apart and both times it was a bad battery. Sometimes I would lose the speedometer and tach, then they would be normal for a day, then not work unless I restarted the engine, other dash lights would flicker on and off. A mechanic told me the items than run on very little power are the first one affected by power fluctuations

I thought that might be an issue too, so I replaced the battery about a month ago, thanks for the suggestion.
