1992 protege hood problems..help needed asap!!

i left my lights on on my car so i went to jump her but i couldn't get the hood to open because the wire connected to the lever for the hood has been severed. amazingly, i replaced my windshield a while back and it turns out that the idiots who did it cut the wire by mistake. Anyway, I need to know how to pop the hood from the front of the car..is there any mechanism through the grill that i can get at to pop it???please let me know as I'm stranded without my car and I don't want to have to pay to get it towed to a mechanic just to pop the hood!

I'm curious if you got the hood open? I didn't answer because I don't know an easy way. You could destroy yor grill and possibly get it open. It is not normally a simple pop the hood deal. If you figured out a simple way to open it share the information with us, it may help someone else.
