Oh - and I just stumbled upon this recent post from teflon, likely describing someone's visit to Weiner's home:

Quote:
found this car in Atlanta. The fellow who owned it was a meticulous collector. When I got to his house, he has six garages (3 each facing each other with a common motorcourt).

I got there and in the garage with the F40 was an F50 and a Maserati convertible. We walked from that garage across the driveway to the opposite side and the other three garages. I walked inside the garage, and there sat a McLaren F1 (Orange), an Enzo, and a Gallardo. We fired up the Enzo and the McLaren and they are truly amazing machines (the McLaren is just the ultimate, no question). In fact, I was supposed to go back down there and drive the McLaren and Enzo when I picked up the F40, but I arranged for enclosed transport and having a standing invitation to return any time to drive the ultimate road car.

When I do, you'll be sure to get the narrative of THAT experience.

best of all, this guy was totally cool and completely at ease with his toys....truly a gentleman. He chooses to remain anonymous, and I'll respect that...

With this team of F1 sleuths on the case, that can be a difficult thing to manage. Really the only way to remain anonymous is make a discrete purchase and then lock the car away in a garage, never telling anyone about it. But where's the fun in doing that?

Just a quick update on this - Bruce no longer owns or runs Concord Confections:

Wednesday September 1, 2004 11:15 AM EDT

CHICAGO (Dow Jones)--Tootsie Roll Industries Inc. (TR) acquired the assets of Canadian bubble gum company Concord Confections Inc. for $197 million and up to $20 million to discharge the Dubble Bubble maker's debt.

Tootsie Roll, whose products also include Sugar Babies and Junior Mints, acquired all of Concord's assets, including its three manufacturing facilities, most of which are in Canada.

"We financed [the acquisition] through short term-borrowing because we didn't want to sell off our short-term investments," Toostie Roll President Ellen Gordon said in a telephone interview Wednesday.

Gordon said the company borrowed about $150 million. About $200 million of Toostie Roll Industries' short-term investments mature in the next year.

Concord Confections' products will continue to be sold under their brand name, Gordon said.

Concord Confections had net sales of about C$116 million in 2003. Tootsie Roll Industries' 2003 net sales were about $393 million.

So apparently bubble gum is worth a lot of money.

Hopefully Bruce is enjoying his retirement, but he may have moved on to other things of course.

Re: More evidence that Kennedy's car may now be in TX

Peloton25,

I haven't been on the forum much lately, but I have a small tidbit to share. I wish I had more info, but hopefully I will soon. At least you were able to track down the owner of the F1 in Atlanta that I had posted about earlier.

I spoke to a close friend of mine who was in Phoenix about two weeks ago. A business acquaintance of his who happens to own a clearbra company(I don't know exactly which one) told my friend that one of his employees had just installed a clearbra on a McLaren F1. Unfortunately, my friend did not ask what color. I know, I know.

So, if this car was not Dan Kennedy's in Phoenix two weeks ago, whose was it?
