Any help thanks

I just bought a 92 station wagon 5.7 V8 and for a V8 it just doesn't have any horse power i think i'm gonna do a couple of things to it tell what you think would it be better to get a new motor or just try to rebuild the old one it has 165,000 on it what are some good starting point as far as the tranny and gears a guy at work says that year model has only about 170 hp i dont beleive that i would like to make it a 300hp car just ned help on the starting point and what road to take.

Well a rebuild would be a big step.... high compression heads, over sized cam, roller rockers, high flow edelbrock intake, headers, true dual exhaust, and you should be pushin some power.

The 350 in those cars are very reliable and cheap to fix. If there is nothing wrong with the motor, I would just leave it alone and do a tune up. If its already running in A1 shape, you can do some simple bolt ons and build a foundation for future big mods. Bolt ons include a cold air intake, exhaust/mufflers, chip, 1.6 rr and springs and so on.
