Exclamation Electrical Problem

Iv got a '88 Crx si with a few performance upgrades(intake,exhaust,cam,pistons.etc......)and ive run into a severe electrical problem. The car starts fine and runs fine until i turn on the headlights, Then the car stalls. Ive taken my alternator and battery to advanced auto parts and both are good. I noticed that my intake pipe was touching the positive battery post so i relocated the battery. Could the Problem be The ignition or coil or a ground?

No The only reason that i relocated the battery was because of the intake pipe.

Re: Electrical Problem

yeah exactly what smoghog said, do the lights work when the car is off? it sounds like the headlight wiring is grounding somewhere.

Re: Electrical Problem

There is a headlight relay on the fender wall near where the OEM intake box would be. Do you have a CAI or short ram intake? You may have gotten the relay wet inside of it or maybe a wire is touching metal. Check it all out and don't be afraid to move the wires around slowly and inspect them with the lights on, etc. Also, check the relay on the other side as well. GL

Just don't ground yourself out in the process... I hate getting shocked...
