distibutor

I was driving down the road in my 1990 fox and all of a sudden she shut off.when I would turn the key on I couldnt' hear the fuek pump so I replaced the relay and now I can hear the pump but she still doesn't start. I pulled the plugs, they are fine, I get fuel, I checked the cap and rotor, they are fine. I decided to check the distributor by trying to crank it and seeing if the rotor moves(with the cap off) and it doesnt'. I pulled the distributor to check the gears, the ones on the dist moves fine but the one in the block doesn't move (when you try to start it. What's the problem?

Re: distibutor

If the distributor doesn't turn wen you crank the engine then the timing belt broke. The good news is that the valves will be okay as it's not an interference engine.
