Wheel / Tire Size Question
I have a 97 Dodge Grand Caravan SE.
I did a little research and see the OE Size for the rim is 15x6 with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern. What is the OE Tire size? Also, do you know if 16x6 with a 114.3 bolt pattern and 205/5516 HR will fit? Those are my winter tires from my car that I am now storing and want to know if I can make use of them? Thanks! -Ryan |

Re: Wheel / Tire Size Question
The OE 15" tires are 215/65 -15.
The 205/55 -15 you speak of would physically fit but are too small and the load rating is so low (89 vs 95 minimum required) that if you could convince a tire shop to put them on, you would probably have to sign a waiver that they are not responsible for your injury or death. The tires would be overloaded and the vehicle would NOT be safe to drive. I use the 225/60 -15 on my current '00 GC. I upgraded my last '00 GC to OE 16" alloys and put 225/60-16 tires on it. I prefer this size because there are a lot of choices available. This size of tire also has a higher weight rating (97 vs 95 required). I don't like the 17" wheel size because the tires are far more expensive and there are few choices. |

Re: Wheel / Tire Size Question
My preference is the 225/60 -16
225mm width 60% of 225mm tall (refers to sidewall) 16 inch wheel In case you are wondering what the significance of the numbers on the tire are. |
