99 Woes

I need help with my 99 Windstar because I swear it is possessed...Front window does not go up/down...front passenger window occasionally works...Both rear windows work fine....I just don't know what to do....Lights go on and off periodically...There has to be some type of short in the wiring...Also had the blend problem fixed at Ford dealership over three years ago...Having the same problems again...Wonder if Ford will honor the work they did...Also, just replaced the transmission at 89,000...Cost over 1,400...I don't know what else to do with this vehicle ....Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

Well...lets start with the windows. You would have to check to see if there is power to the switch. If the switch has power does the switch work? When you move the switch does the pin recieve power?

Do a search for your blend door problem. WisWind has a good post on blend door fixes.

Lights....are they coming on without the switch being turned on? Or are they shutting off with the switch on?

By saying you have a "short" are you saying that sparks are flying, or are you saying that there is an open circuit which isn't allowing current to flow?

How is the engine running? If it's good...I would start working on some of these issues.

Get yourself a test light, multi meter, and a pannel removal tool. I fyou buy at the right places at the most 50.00.

Ask questions here. Search the forum here. I take it you, like me, found this forum by searching the internet.
